Yesterday at 3:00 PM, Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham issued a public health order (Public Health Order 03-23-2020) pertaining to numerous business closures and limited activity for all citizens of New Mexico; Residential Construction was exempt from the order allowing for continued operations. (Public Health Order attached below).
As essential, we MUST comply with all OSHA (https://www.osha.gov/Publications/OSHA3990.pdf) and New Mexico Health standards concerning the spread of COVID-19 up and until April 10th 2020 and possibly thereafter as well depending on whether we as a community can control the spread of the virus.
The HBA of Central NM will be posting updates frequently if not daily to our members on our website (www.HBACNM.com), on our Facebook page (@HBACNM) as well as emails to our members. If you have any questions please call John Garcia at 505-980-0985.
There have been many questions about upcoming events including the spring Parade of Homes and other events and activities. The spring Parade of Homes will be postponed and new dates will be announced tomorrow. All other events are still on, with some modifications depending on the current situation and when we can resume full operations.
The HBA of Central NM will be working remotely and limited operations, however we plan to continue with a focus on communication for our members and the construction industry as well as working with local, state and national administrative entities to ensure construction continues.
Although these are difficult times, home building and construction in general will continue at this point and we can all do our part to stay healthy and productive. Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham and other elected officials have expressed confidence in our industry moving forward; we are grateful and will honor their trust in us to keep busy, while making sure our employees, customers and suppliers stay safe and healthy.
If you have any questions, please call John Garcia, Executive Vice President HBA Central NM at 505-980-0985.
